Teddy “Ted” Allen Bennett, 85, husband of Betty Atkins Bennett, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born on October 28, 1935 in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late William McKinley and Nora Hucthins Bennett. After earning his degree in Mechanics from Tri County Technical College, he became an electrician and worked at Mount Vernon Mills until his retirement. He was also a professional piddler.

In addition to his wife of the home, Ted was survived by his sons, Teddy Wayne (Sue Ellen) Bennett of Pendleton, William “Ken” McKinley (Lauren) Bennett of Anderson and Terry Lee (Paula) Bennett of Townville. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Jeffrey Bennett, Erin Bennett, Shelly Swaney, four great grandchildren, and his siblings, Billie Johnson, Cheryl Landreth, Joyce Sawyer and Norman Bennett.

Ted was preceded in death by a son, Johnny “Mutt” Bennett.

The family will have a visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021 at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Interim Hospice,, or The Zion Fire Department, 5503 Hix Rd, Anderson, SC 29625.

Ted was such a blessing to us, he was like a father figure to Clyde and myself, Always eager to help in anyway. Its going to be so strange to not seen him in his golf cart touring the neighborhood. We always laughed and say he was the Mayor of our community. Betty and Family, We love you all Dearly and are Always here for you...Prayers continue for you Betty. and your family.
