Obituary for Teddy Bennett

Teddy “Ted” Allen Bennett, 85, husband of Betty Atkins Bennett, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born on October 28, 1935 in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late William McKinley and Nora Hucthins Bennett. After earning his degree in Mechanics from Tri County Technical College, he became an electrician and worked at Mount Vernon Mills until his retirement. He was also a professional piddler.

In addition to his wife of the home, Ted was survived by his sons, Teddy Wayne (Sue Ellen) Bennett of Pendleton, William “Ken” McKinley (Lauren) Bennett of Anderson and Terry Lee (Paula) Bennett of Townville. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Jeffrey Bennett, Erin Bennett, Shelly Swaney, four great grandchildren, and his siblings, Billie Johnson, Cheryl Landreth, Joyce Sawyer and Norman Bennett.

Ted was preceded in death by a son, Johnny “Mutt” Bennett.

The family will have a visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021 at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center.
