Obituary

Rena (Renee)Leona Amato Martino
4/3/1933 – 1/18/2021
Renee Martino left us on January 18, 2021 at 3:43 a.m.
She fought a brave but short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed on 12/4/2020 and in a short matter of time was gone. She was surrounded by her 3 children and granddaughter as well as friends before she departed.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA by her parents, Arthur and Angelina Amato. Her husband Larry Martino left us in 1996.
She is survived by her children, Steven Lawrence, David Michael and Cynthia Lisa as well as granddaughter Melanie Renee all Martino’s. Her brother, Arthur Amato of Philadelphia, PA. As well as her beloved dogs, Daisy, Cheyenne and Snowflake. She also had 7 granddogs and 2 grandcats.
Renee was an avid animal lover and the founder of Snuggle Inn Doggie Resort in Anderson, SC which she started 15 years ago along with her daughter Cindy. She named it after a beloved dog of hers, Snuggles. Their mission was to provide a loving, clean, fun environment for the dogs while they boarded. Mission accomplished as well as rescuing and fostering dogs in need.
Prior to that she assisted her husband Larry, a fashion designer for many stars and ran their clothing stores. She had a flare for fashion, design, decorating and art. At 87, Renee was in the midst of starting a new business, “Sea- Munchkins”, animated hand painted sea shells. She was cremated and her ashes will be scattered in Gatlinburg, TN and the ocean as she wished.
She didn’t want a service. Instead at some point we will have a celebration of her life!
In lieu of flowers, donations to animal rescues of your choice in her memory is what she wanted.
Our Mother, was the most remarkable and resilient women you would ever have met, this has shattered our hearts! Fly free Mom until we meet again…
