Ted Hardy
September 20, 1962 -- December 14, 2020
James Ted Hardy, 58, of Starr, SC, surrounded by his loving family, passed away at Anmed Hospital on December 14, 2020.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Starr, where he gave his life to Christ many years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Stevenson Hardy, of 37 years, his sons, Joshua Carl Hardy and Julius Brayden Stevenson, his daughters, Kacie LeighAnn Glenn (Cody) and Tina Marie Donald (Dalton), and his first grandchild due June 2021.

He is also survived by his brother, Doyle Hardy (Debbie).

James was the son of the late Jim Elree and Annie Sue Hardy.

Born in Anderson, SC. He first joined the work force as a student bus driver for his school, Crescent High (Iva, SC), until he graduated in 1981. He then moved on to work the following : Orr-Lyons Mill (Maintenance), B.A.S.F. (Textile Spinning), Honeywell (BEARS Safety), and Southeastern Machining (Quality Control Manager).
James was widely and joyfully known by the nickname "Biscuit", acquired while working many years at B.A.S.F. with life-long friends. He even passed variations of that beloved nickname to his children, such as : Little biscuit and canned biscuit.

James was extremely talented at working with his hands. He enjoyed creating beautiful works of craftsmanship, from large metal trailers and go-carts to solid wood entertainment centers and wooden wall clock boxes.
He was always up for a weekend trip to the mountains, going to yard-sales, firing up the grill for a crowd, and bonfires with a large pot of boiled peanuts.

James was an amazing father. No matter what his children were into at the time, he would always find a way to be involved. He did it all; setting up barrels in the front yard for Tina to practice her horseback barrel racing, coaching baseball for Brayden, coaching soccer for Kacie, teaching Joshua his way around the tool shop, being a member of the high school marching band booster club, and so much more.

He was always a great friend to all he met, loved by all.

James stayed strong in both mind and spirit all the way to the end. Even in his weakest state, he was confident he was going to beat his cancer and make it home for Christmas. God heard and answered his prayer; James was cured of cancer and taken to his eternal home.
