William Scott Smith, 73, of Belton, SC, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his home.
Born in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late William Clifton Smith, and the late Nancy Scott Smith.
Scott was a United States Navy Veteran, and continued working for the government as a heavy mobile equipment operator for 42 years before retiring. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Belton. Scott enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking, and was known as a very skilled handyman. There was no project too big for him to handle. He was kind, generous, patient, and a man of his word. Scott was well-loved and respected by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose Marie Smith, and their children Jaysen, and his wife Christina, and Nancy Marie, and her husband Joshua. He is also survived by his sisters, Jane Ackiss and her husband Paul, and Mary Beth Wright, and her husband Ben, along with two nieces and two nephews. Scott is also survived by his beloved Dobermann, “Lulu”.
