Obituary for Westlyn Shade Kelley

Westlyn Kelley
September 19, 2022- August 8, 2023

Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Westlyn Shade Kelley, 10-month-old daughter of Isaac Shade Kelley and Mackenzie Reid Blackmon, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023

Westlyn was such a happy, joyful baby. She always had a smile on her face and her eyes would light up the moment someone spoke to her. Her laugh was contagious, and her sparkle captured the hearts of everyone who met her. She was just learning to walk and could say “dada”, “bubba”, and “mama”. Westlyn loved playing with her big brother Fostyr, going to see her papa and gigi, and never being put down due to open arms from all of her relatives. She was her mama’s sidekick and enjoyed running all the errands. Westlyn not only looked just like her daddy, but she was a daddy’s girl through and through. Westlyn and her family attended Beech Springs Church every time the doors opened. She loved her people. She gave love unconditionally and in honoring her we will strive to do the same.

Along with her parents, Westlyn is survived by her older brother, Fostyr Blackmon, grandparents, William “Mel” and Teresa Blackmon, along with Chad and Amber Kelley. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Peyton Blackmon, Tucker Blackmon, Aiden Kelley, Addison Kelley, Carissa Alewine, and great-grandparents, Mary and Ted Burgess, Patricia Blackmon, along with Anthony and Meleeda Kelley.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm, August 15, 2023, at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC, 29625.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm until 2pm, in the Maple Room, at The Standard.

When remembering Westlyn, we cannot help but think of what a blessing she was to us and the happiness that radiated from her. We ask that you wear pink or a color that reminds you of her, as we want our memories of her to stay just as bubbly as she was.
