Obituary for Vickie Watkins (Ashley)
Vickie Irene Ashley Watkins, 60, resident of Belton, wife of William Buckey Watkins, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2022, at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Edger W. Ashley and Susie Cowart Ashley.
Vickie enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music alongside her husband. She also had a love for all animals, but huskies held a special place in her heart.
Vickie was a member of Iva First Assembly of God.
Along with her parents, Vickie was predeceased by her sibling, Marshall Ashley, Marion Ashley, Sandra Ashley, Donald Ashley, and her two huskies, Bear and Apache.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by three siblings, Randy Ashley, Steve Ashley, Christine McKee (David), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, a very special friend, Tina Thompson (David), and her canine companion, Conner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Iva First Assembly of God with Rev. Charlie Howell and Rev. Helen Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow at Mnt. Bethel Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
