March 17, 1949- October 31, 2022
Thomas Michael “Mike” Mitchell, 73, of Anderson, left his earthly home Monday, October 31, 2022.
Born on March 13, 1949, in Abbeville, he was a son of the late Thomas Burton Mitchell, and the late Tommie Maxwell Mitchell.
Mike was a beloved husband, father, brother, and Paw Paw. He fought Muscular Dystrophy for over 40 years, and rarely complained. He loved the Lord, his family, and history. Mike was a Dixie Highschool graduate and retired from BASF. After retiring, he worked at AnMed Health Medical Center in the Emergency room as a guest ambassador.
Mike is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Speares Mitchell, their children, Kevin (Leanne), of Iva, and Robin (Stephen) of Williamston, along with his grandchildren, Caitlin and Lauren Roberts, Lane, and Sadey Mitchell.
Mike is also survived by his siblings; Pat Harrison, of Abbeville, Sue (Stan) Norman of Abbeville, Beth (Danny) of Starr, and Bob Mitchell (Judy) of Belton.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at The Standard Cremation and Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC, 29625.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm until 2pm.
