Thomas Anthony Barbusca
May 17, 1938 – January 3, 2023

Thomas Anthony Barbusca, 84, of Anderson, SC, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Born on May 17, 1938, in Buffalo, New York, he was a son of Angelo and Rosalia Barbusca, and a brother to Paul Barbusca, Sam Barbusca, Rose Hinds and Tina McDonald.

He and his family moved to Miami, Florida when he was 8 years old. They owned the Lincoln Food Market, which he helped run for many years. He later worked at the Miami Herald where he met his future wife, Lana. He worked for the tool company, Gene Seymour, Inc. and later for Kinko’s. He always loved working with customers and serving them.

He had a lifelong love of sports and enjoyed competing in many of them, especially basketball and racquetball, even when retiring to Anderson, South Carolina, in 2005. He and Lana attended Cornerstone Assembly of God and then Freedom Center (North Campus). He loved Big Band and Fifties Rock n’ Roll, which he and Lana often sang together.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lana, of 57 years, his daughter Christine Rabi (Héctor) of Miami, his son, Tony Barbusca (Chrissy) of Anderson, and grandchildren Sabrina Rabi, Patrick Rabi, Marco Barbusca, Rocco Barbusca, and Gianna Barbusca. He is also survived by his sister, Tina McDonald, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Freedom Center, North Campus, 1851 Bleckley Street, Anderson, South Carolina 29625. Pastor Phillip Sears will officiate.
