Steven W. McClain, 67, of Easley, SC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Born on April 10, 1955, in Huntingdon, PA., he was a son of the late Norman L. McClain and the late Jean Shilling McClain.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Carole McClain Woodington.
He is survived by his brother, William D. McClain, of York, PA, and his sister, Christie McClain Gibboney, of Huntingdon, PA.
Steve is also survived by brothers-in-law, Ken and Chip, and sister-in-law, Linda; along with nieces Gail, Anne, Abby, and Kait; nephews Steve and Alex; and 6 grandnephews.
He was a 1973 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.
He worked for a number of years at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Huntingdon, PA. After that, he attended a trade school in the Pittsburgh area studying computer science.
Steve lived briefly in McKees Rocks, PA, and in Wildwood, NJ. He worked at the family business, McClain Gas & Electric, in Huntingdon, PA, for a short time.
His free spirit carried him to Arizona and Florida before settling in the area of Greenville, SC.
Steve attended Grace Baptist Church in Taylors, S.C. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating, water-skiing, and throwing frisbee. Steve had a lifelong love of music, sports, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed reading the Bible and journaling. Steve will be remembered as a kind and gentle person.
A Celebration of Life will happen later in the spring or summer of 2023 in Huntingdon, PA.
