Obituary for Sara Kay

(Sara Kay) Sara Bryant Kay, 88, wife of Charles "Charlie" Kay of Anderson, died Thursday, April 21, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg County, S.C., on October 4, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Bryant and the late Mallie Lucille Sims Bryant.

Sara was a secretary for the Anderson office of Kanawha Life Insurance. She and her husband were active members of Concord Baptist Church in Anderson for over 28 years.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Charles “Charlie” Kay, daughter, Elaine Kay, son, Alan Kay, grandchildren; Anne Blyth (Rickey), Caleb Chandler, Bradley Chandler, Justin Blyth, Nicholas Blyth, Stephanie Revis (Matthew), Terry King Jr. (Kayla), and Dawn Reed (Jon), great-grandchildren; Hailie Revis, Taylor Revis, Olivia Revis, Aracela King, Alvin King, Sofia King, Kelan Reed, Beckette Reed and Chandller Reed-Specialist in the U.S. Army, and a great-great grandson, Johnathan Chandler.

She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Calvin Edward Kay, her daughter, Sandra Marie Kay Long, and her sister, Nancy Louise Bromley.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in the sanctuary of Concord Baptist Church, 1012 Concord Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621. Dr. Don Cox and Rev. Randy Blank will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00pm, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, at the church, prior to the service, from 11:30am – 12:30pm.
