Obituary for Faye Rumsey
(Faye Rumsey) Sandra Faye Hanks Rumsey, 77, of Anderson, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson on July 31, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Col. Clinton Martin Hanks and Ellen Turner Brown and was lovingly raised by Christina Turner.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and faithful military wife.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her spouse, Barney Gentry, children, Angie Rumsey (John Human), Keith Rumsey (Katie), Kelly Chappell (Greg) and Crystal Rutledge, stepdaughter, Karen Gentry and stepson, Glenn Gentry, brothers, Donnie and William Brown and sisters, Shelby Cherry and Brenda Brooks.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kellsie Rumsey, Kayla Wentzky, John Tyler Human, Chase Rumsey, Jada Rumsey, Camryn Human, McKenzie Rumsey, Brandon Human, Cade Rutledge, Hannah Human, Rayn Dove, Jamie Young, Emily Human, Chloe Human, Aubrey Gentry, Abigail Williams, Kaleb Selman and Drew Chappell, great-grandchildren, Hollie Chappell, Jemma King, Jenna-lee King, Greyson Lovely and Julian Human and her special “sisters”, Patsy Mize and Judy Hanks.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Rumsey.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 12:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Sam Duncan will officiate, and burial will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center on Friday from 10:30am – 12:00pm.
