Sam Frazier
Samuel Lincoln Frazier, 74, husband of Vicki Frazier of Anderson, passed away of natural causes, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at his home.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 27, 1948, he was the son of the late William Hardin Frazier and the late Dorothy Faye Lamb Frazier.
Sam was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and served 3 tours in Vietnam. After his service to our country, he became a law enforcement officer. He was employed with the St. Louis Police Department before relocating to Anderson, S.C., where he began a 45 year career with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office. At the Sheriff’s Office, he served in many capacities, including, Road Patrol, Warrants Division, and the Anderson County Courthouse, as well as serving as the School Resource Officer for Crescent High School in Iva, for 3 years.
In addition to his regular duties, Sam always found time for extra duty work within the community. He will be remembered for his extra duty hours at Skateland and the bowling alley on Clemson Blvd., The Anderson Jockey Lot, and local movie theaters.
He was also, Post Advisor for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Post 104 for over 20 years. As advisor to the post, Sam made lasting impacts on the lives of teenagers looking to make law enforcement a career.
He served under Sheriffs E.E. "Duck" Cooley, Gene Taylor, David Crenshaw, John Skipper and Chad McBride, and retired in 2017. He will be missed by the many people who knew and respected him.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vicki J. Frazier, children; Jennifer Duggin, Don Duggin, Beverly Duggin, Michelle McGee, Kelli Duggin Lindsey, and Sara Grooms, grandchildren; Laila Rondelli, Karey Garner, Andrew Kitchens, Hunter Duggin, Sage Duggin, Noah Duggin, U.S.A.F. Senior Airman Jacob Stanley, Justin Sainsbury, Hailie Bardi, William Duggin, Grace Duggin, Beau Lindsey, Corey Grooms, Brittney Grooms, Penelope Grooms, and Samuel Grooms.
He is also survived by his brother, Dale Gillman.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Luke Rondelli (2008-2022).
A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm, on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain-Rev. David Blizzard will officiate, and burial will follow at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 11:00am – 12:30pm.
