Sammy Joey Bagwell
March 8, 1958- November 19, 2022
Joey Bagwell, 64, of Anderson, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Williamston, SC, he was a son of the late Arthur Vaughn Bagwell Jr., and the late Myrtle Marion Stone Bagwell.
Joey was known most for his big heart, and generosity. He would give away anything he had if someone was in need and was fine going without so others were well taken care of. He loved his family, drinking Pepsi, and working on cars. Joey was mechanically gifted, and could fix anything. He was also certified for tractor trailer and industrial truck operation. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Joey is survived by his daughters, Kayla Bagwell, and Kristian (Benji) Crocker, along with his grandchildren, Alex Couch, Lauren Bagwell, Trinity Wilson, Eli Crocker, Hayden Bagwell, Caitlen Harris, and Emma Harris.
Joey is survived by his siblings, Danny Ray Bagwell (Kathy), Frankie Alewine- husband to his late sister Patti, Pamela Ashley (Chris), Cynthia Elliot (Michael), Robin McGill (Tim), and Todd Bagwell (Amanda.) He is also survived by his former wife, and mother of his children, Cynthia Wilson.
Along with his parents, Joey was preceded in death by his sister, Patti Alewine.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Covenant Baptist Church 4521 Liberty Hwy, Anderson, SC 29621.
The Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm until 1:45pm.
The family will gather at Joey's sister Robin's house, Friday, November 25, 2022, from 6pm-8pm at 136 Welcome Lane in Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers, we would like for Joey’s giving nature, to help those in need, to be carried on through donations to Anderson Interfaith Ministries 1202 S Murray Ave, Anderson, SC 29624.
