Born in Seneca SC, He was the son of Thomas F. and Ruth E. Duncan.

Roger grew up on the Utica mill hill and graduated from Seneca High School. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army. Sgt. Duncan was a 30 year veteran of the US Army National Guard.

He also worked at Rochester Real Estate as a REALTOR along with opening a thriving photography studio on Ram Cat Alley in Seneca, SC. While he was not recruiting for the Guard or photographing weddings, he was playing one of his many guitars, some may remember him as a 60’s Rock n Roll Star at the Chicken Shack. He also enjoyed working on the many classic cars he would buy and sell. Papa was a collector of many things. His greatest joy was spending lots of time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He would give you the shirt off of his back and then buy it back from you if needed.

After his retirement from the Guard and Photography, he held several small jobs with local businesses, spent much time helping people in the communities of Anderson and Seneca. He also worked with Synergistics Design, helping to restore power to people in various parts of the country after severe storms and hurricanes.
