Obituary for Rickey Burdette
(Rickey Burdette) Rickey Lavern Burdette, 73, husband of Peggy Bolt Burdette, of Anderson, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at The Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Belton, SC on December 4, 1947, he was a son of the late Coleman Benson Burdette and the late Mary Elizabeth Hawkins Burdette.
Rickey was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Anderson and was retired as an Electrical Supervisor with Davis Electrical Constructors, now known as I.E.S. He enjoyed going to the gym and could often be seen at Golds Gym or the Y.M.C.A. in Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Bolt Burdette, his children, Rhonda Alewine (Jason), Sherri Angle and Craig Burdette, grandchildren, Ashley Benson, Kennedy Angle, Madison Angle, Griffin Angle and Cayden Burdette and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Connor Benson and Aiden Capell.
He is also survived by his brother, Mike Burdette (Susan).
A private family funeral service with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will be held in the near future. Dr. Steve Hurte will officiate.
Friends may pay their respects and sign his register book on Sunday, December 14, 2020 from the hours of 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
Social distancing and face masks are required at all events.
