Rick Owen
May 6, 1960 – December 28, 2022
Richard F. Owen, Jr., 62, husband of Dorothy Owen, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Born on May 6, 1960, he was a son of Richard F. Owen, Sr. and the late Sarah Webb Owen King.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Owen, granddaughter, Taylor Owen and grandparents, Sloan & Beatrice Webb and Clarence & Mary Owen.
Along with his loving wife and father, he is survived by three sons and one daughter, ten grandchildren, one sister, four brothers, his loving aunt and uncle, Larry & Flora Jane White, his special friend, Lester Hughes and his stepfather, Larry King.
Rick was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and a fishing guide on Lake Hartwell. He retired from Michelin and participated in the Outdoor Dream Foundation.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Gethsemane Baptist Temple, 6116 Hwy 81 S, Starr, SC 29684. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Sam Duncan and Pastor Travis Dyar will officiate.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, in the church sanctuary, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
