Obituary for Richard Boyd

(Richard Boyd) Richard Stephen Boyd, 72, husband of Linda Lark Boyd of Anderson, died Saturday, October 31, 2020 at his residence.

Born in Gastonia, NC on April 28, 1948, he was the only child of Idrell Evans Boyd Jr. and Minerva Quinn Wilson Boyd and lived his childhood life in Clover, S.C.

Richard served 2 tours in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War He worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, and was the last postman to walk a route in downtown Anderson, SC. He walked a 15 mile route daily. He is an A.R.P. Presbyterian and enjoyed panning for gold and anything to do with nature and wildlife. He loved his pets, especially is Blue Healer, Minnie. Richard was a former member of the Electric City Car Club and the Anderson Elks Lodge #1206.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lark Boyd and several other extended family members.

A private cryptside funeral service, with military honors by the U.S. Army, was held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11:00am at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Rev. Jeff Black officiated.
