Obituary for Raymond Fant
(Raymond Fant) Raymond Fant, 87, of Townville, SC passed away at the Rainey Hospice House after a long illness.
Raymond was the son of the late Troy and Helen Fant of Michigan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Ayers Fant, his daughter Susan Byrd, his son, Timothy Fant and his stepson, Jimmy Dyar.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Wayne and his sister-in-law Hattie.
He is survived by his son Stephen Fant (Pam) of Michigan and his stepdaughter Carol Suttles (Johnny) of Townville, S.C., son-in-law, Russell Byrd and nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Raymond was born in Wayne County, Michigan and worked for the city of Westland until he retired and moved to Townville, South Carolina to enjoy his later years and where he met his wife Lorraine.
He was a faithful and dedicated member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville, S.C., where he lead the music ministry for many years.
A funeral service for he and his son, Timothy (who died December 13, 2020), will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:00am at Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville. Rev. David Blizzard will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary prior to the service from 10:00am until funeral time.
Social distancing is to be observed and face masks are required at all events.
