Ralph Odell Thomas, 83, husband of “Bokie” Vickery Thomas, died Thursday, January 8, 2021 at his residence in Chapin, SC.
Born in Madison, Ga. on October 8, 1937, he was a son of the late Ralph Rosenthol Thomas and the late Lenora Miller Thomas. Odell and his wife Bokie moved to Chapin, SC in 2014 to live closer to their family.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Anderson and was a craftsman in the homebuilding industry. He was the retired owner and operator of Thomas Flooring Covering and Centerville Tops on Whitehall Rd and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Ann “Bokie” Vickery Thomas, his son, Dell Thomas (Kim), and Randy Thomas (Angie), grandchildren, Kayla Garrett (Adam), Anna Allen (Zack), and Jacob, Matthew, and Nathan Thomas and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Richard Thomas (Ann).
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Drew Gunter will officiate and burial will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
Social distancing is to be observed and face masks are required at all events.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church 2503 Whitehall Rd. Anderson, SC 29625.
