Obituary for Rachel deGive

Rachel Elizabeth deGive, 66, resident of Pendleton, wife of James Lee deGive, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Hospice of the Upstate.

Born in Anderson, SC, on September 24, 1954, Rachel was a daughter of the late Ernest Leonard and Julia Wardlaw Haney.

Rachel spent her career working with Clemson University in the plant problem clinic.

In addition to her husband of the home, Rachel is survived by her two daughters, Angela (Brian) Wilson and Crystal (Kevin) Harris both of Pendleton, a step-daughter, Cassandra (Joe) Oliver of Belton, and a brother, Roger (Geneiva) Haney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tyler Cason, Jeremy Cason, Brianna Wilson, Nicholas Gibson, Bryson Harris, Kensley Harris, Abrianna Harris, Anabella Harris, Eva Oliver, Marist Oliver, Charles Oliver, Atalaya Oliver, and a great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00PM on Friday, April 16, inside the Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center with Rev. Russell Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the service.
