Obituary for M. Talmadge Keown
M. Talmadge Keown, 89, husband of Shirley Brewster Keown, of Anderson, died Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Elberton, Georgia, on October 1, 1932, he was a son of the late Myron Mitchell Keown, and the late Eunice Perrin Keown Parris.
Mr. Keown retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years service. After returning to Anderson, he was a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker (Hugh Durham Agency).
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Brewster Keown, his sisters; Dorothy Hayes, Barbara Burroughs (Rudy), Sue Carnes (Gary), and Linda Dorn (Wilbur) and his brothers; Albert “Buddy” Keown (Barbara), and Frank Keown (Sandy).
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Sylvene Keown and Martha Phillips, his brother-in-law, Raymond Brewster, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John Russell Keown, his brothers Herman and Jimmy Keown, and his sister, Mildred McBride.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. David Pickens and Rev. Lloyd Robison will officiate. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military honors.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
