Michael Van Strien, 73, of Anderson, SC, died Monday, October 24, 2022, at his home.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of the late Ernest Van Strien, and Mary Van Strien.
Michael was a proud Vietnam Veteran and served in the 101st Airborne division of the United States Army. During his time in the service Michael was the recipient of multiple medals including a National Defense Service Medal, a Bronze Star Medal, a Combat Infantryman Badge, along with many others. Michael enjoyed spending his mornings at the All In coffee shop in Clemson, SC, and reading in his free time. Michael was a family man and enjoyed every chance he had to spend with his wife and son.
Michael is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jackie Van Strien, their son, Micah Van Strien, and his wife Alecia. He is also survived by his six cousins.
Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his cousin, Kelly Pataky.
The family will be hosting a memorial service on a later date.
