Obituary for Mary Ray
Mary Lee Ray, 76, resident of Anderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on July 2, 1944 in Iva, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Montelle Hanks Holbrooks.
She loved her Lord, her family, sharing the Gospel with others, and flower gardening.
Mary retired from Phil Jewelers after many years of service and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Starr.
Survivors include her children, William H. (Alice) Ray, Jr. of Anderson, Richard D. (Tracey) Ray of Anderson, Gregory L. (Lisa) Hanna of Anderson, Christopher E. (Tammy) Hanna of Anderson and Judy H. (Robert) Cope Jr. of Springfield, GA. She was also survived by her siblings, Martha (Roger) Haynie, Carolyn (Wallace) Alexander, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Mary was twice widowed by her late husbands, Charles H. Hanna, Jr. and William H. Ray, Sr. and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Nancy Bolding and Wesley Holbrooks.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 14, 2021 inside The Tribute Room at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. The family will greet friends directly after her service.
Flowers will be accepted, or a memorial donation may be made in her honor to Grace Baptist Church at P.O. Box 100, Starr, SC 29684.
