Obituary for Mary Cornett
Mary Cornett, 90, wife of the late T.P. Cornett, died Monday, August 22, 2022, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson.
Born in Six Mile, S.C., on June 29, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Avery Belton Holcombe, and the late Janie Beth Todd Holcombe.
After many years of service, Mary retired as a ward clerk with Anderson Memorial Hospital / AnMed Health. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr.
She is survived by her children; Steve Crawford (Judy), Gail Purdy (J.R.), and Mike Crawford (Christina), her siblings; Ray Holcombe, Betty Carter, and Jean Nix, as well as 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Louie Franklin Holcombe and her sister, Flora Mae Nix.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday, August 26, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Sam Duncan will officiate, and burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.
