Marvin Alonzo Rogers, 64, husband of Vivian Rogers, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home.

Born on July 21, 1957, he was a son of the late Harold Rogers and the late Geraldine Clardy Rogers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Rogers, and three brothers: Aaron, David & Wister Rogers.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jeremiah Rogers (Sheri) & Timothy Rogers (Danielle), grandchildren: Lucy Rogers, Layla Rogers, Robert Kimbell & Evelyn Kimbell, stepchildren: Dana Warwick, Bryan Cox (Katie) & Ryan Mathis, and step-grandchildren: David & Jonathan Cox. Surviving also are his siblings who adored their baby brother: Mary Ann Martin, Betty Ramey, Vickie Bryson & Joseph Rogers (Charleen), his beloved Shih Tzu, Samantha, and Yorkie, Abby and several nieces and nephews.

Marvin was known for his hard work and was employed at Michelin US2 for 33 years.

He was the most loving husband and father, and family was everything to him. Caring, giving and so humble, his sisters recall that they never knew he was such a talented singer. Vivian discovered his amazing voice, and from then on, his singing was requested by all who knew him.

Marvin said, “Once I get to heaven, I’m going to find Elvis and we are going to have a sing off.” If you were fortunate enough to hear Marvin’s voice, you know that Elvis will be taking a seat.

The family will host a memorial service on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Lebanon Baptist Church, 5150 Gentry Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Visitation will be held from 1:30pm-3:00pm with the service following at 3:00pm. Rev. James Doster & Rev. Barry Robinson will officiate.
