Obituary for Marvin Kent

(Marvin Kent) Marvin Earl Kent, 79, of Anderson, died Saturday, December 31, 2022, at his home.

Born May 15, 1943, in Colorado Springs, CO, he was a son of the late Alvin Edward Kent, and the late Murrieta Jewel Jewell.

Marvin served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was the former owner/operator of A.B.F. Burglar and Fire Systems in Anderson. He was an active member of Ruhamah United Methodist Church in Starr, where he was church treasurer and in served in many other capacities of church life. He also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Anderson.

He is survived by his sons; Marcus Kent (Iris Folsom), Michael Kent (Melissa), and Matthew Kent (Cherry).

He is also survived by his long-time companion, Lee Kleppel, and many grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Ruhamah United Methodist Church, 116 Ruhamah Church Rd., Starr, S.C. 29684. Rev. Greg Martin will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Navy.

The family will receive friends, at the church, prior to the service, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
