Milledgeville, GA/Anderson, SC
Martha Elizabeth Lawrence, 28, the beautiful, brilliant and favorite daughter of the late Royce F. Lawrence, Jr. and M. Cindy Wilson, passed onto the more peaceful realm to be with her Heavenly Father after years of suffering the ravages of Type 1 Diabetes.

Martha Elizabeth loved to learn, to travel, to explore. She loved flowers and gallops across the fields at Wilson Farms with her friends on horseback. She was a gifted writer and wrote psalms to the Lord. She often said that she wanted to be a farmer, a horse trainer and a real estate broker and a scientist or doctor when she grew up. She was well on her way as she was awarded the Baldwin County, Georgia Star Student Award and entered Georgia Tech. Illness forced her withdrawal prior to graduation.

She was predeceased by her father; her maternal grandfather, Edward C. Wilson, Jr.; her paternal grandfather Royce F. Lawrence, Sr. and step-grandmother Dana McQuaig Lawrence; her paternal grandmother Martha Carpenter Lawrence Fulghum Thornton and paternal step-grandfather David C. Thornton.

She is survived by her mother, her maternal grandmother Mary R. Wilson; her great aunt Celeste R. Fuller, aunt Emily C. Wilson, cousin Madison Payne and many South Carolina cousins; her paternal aunt Melinda Lawrence and uncle Lawson Lawrence; stepmother Terri Masaneri and brother Landon Lawrence; her cousins Matthew & Justin Leonard and their respective families; Heath & Bart Lawrence and their respective families.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.

Memorials may be made to any of the following, where Martha Elizabeth spent many happier hours; New Covenant School 303 Simpson Rd. Anderson, SC 29621, Concord Baptist Church 1012 Concord Rd. Anderson, SC 29621 or Greenville Foothills Pony Club C/O Carl Birkell 298 Davis Rd. West Pelzer, SC 29669

I called her MEL...she was one of my babies at the Montessori school Of Anderson... we had a special bond...she knew she could always come to Ms. Kathy...we would sit and eat a snack when her levels were low..she would find me and take my hand and say I think I need a snack...we would have crackers and juice on the steps...she would always tell me about her love of horses and we would sit and sing heart is broken to know she is no longer here. However I have no doubt that she is with our Lord... Much love to her family..especially her amazing mother Cindy...

MEL..I will see you on the other side...I know you are riding a beautiful horse in heaven. Love you always..Ms. Kathy

Oh Cindy, Mrs. Wilson and Emily...I am just so sorry. I am thinking of you all, and the sorrow. What a beautiful story of her life on earth.
