Mark White
November 9, 1958- March 16, 2023

Mark Allen White, age 64, of Belton, died at his home on March 16, 2023.

He was the son of the late Harrison and Shirley White. He is survived by his wife Jan (Cox) White; son, Anthony Minor (Jennie); daughters, Kelly Martin (Keith), Amber Smith (Channing); grandchildren, Douglas and Blake Minor (Amber Rose), Travis Martin (Bailey), Nadia and Naomi Martin, and Joseph Allen Smith, along with 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special cousin Cathy Croci (Ken).

Mark was born November 9, 1958, in Middletown, NY. He and his family relocated to Miami, Florida at a young age. In his late teens, he and his family moved to the mountains of Pickens, South Carolina. There he graduated high school and began at Tri-County Technical College. While at Tri-County Tech., he met the love of his life. He married Jan on August 3, 1979. He served 2 years in the 82nd airborne. In 1983, he went to work at BASF and retired disabled in 1990.

Mark studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses off and on since the 80’s until he finally dedicated his life and got baptized on August 13, 2005. Mark had many talents and hobbies. Not only did he love to draw and paint but had a deep love for animals of all kinds. He loved to read, so he had a wealth of knowledge in so many subjects. His favorite thing in life was being a Papa. He loved playing and teaching all the grandkids. Gardening was his new favorite pastime. Even when he wasn’t able to, he could always tell you how to do it. Mark struggled with a mental illness for over 34 years. He had his ups and downs. Through it all he kept a sense of humor and could tell a good joke. Not only did he stress good manners, but also shared with his children his love of John Wayne and Elvis Presley. He will be greatly remembered for his generosity, love of good food, and his twinkling blue eyes. He, along with his family, look forward to the time “when all things will be made new” (Rev. 21:5). The family will host a memorial service at 4:00pm, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 617 Airline Road, Anderson, SC, 29624.
