Obituary for Margie Bryant
(Margie Bryant) Margie Holcombe Bryant, 83, wife of the late Marcelle “Rat” Bryant of Anderson, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson on October 15, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Calhoun Holcombe and the late Alice Orene Perry Holcombe.
Margie was retired from food service at AnMed Health and attended The Freedom Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Vernon Bennett (Laurie), Brenda Green (Terry), Debra Simmons (Calvin) and John Bryant (Billie Jo), grandchildren, Joshua Bennett, Justin Bennett, Tracy Martin, Terry “JR” Green Jr., Adam Simmons, Sydney Bowman, Aary Bryant and Anna Bryant.
She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and a special niece, Fran Tony.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Simmons and her siblings, Pete Holcombe, James “Bub” Holcombe, Dorothy “Dot” Brown, Palmira “Pal” Nation and Clara Bolt.
A funeral service will be held in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00pm. Pastor Phil Sears will officiate, and burial beside her husband will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center on Sunday from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.
