Obituary for Peggy Huff

Peggy Huff
April 17, 1959 - April 11, 2022

Margaret “Peggy” Evans Huff (Harden), 62, of Anderson, SC passed away at her home on Monday, April 11, 2022, due to complications with cancer. She was surrounded by loving support in her last days.

Peggy was the daughter of the late Minister and missionary Manly Evans Harden and the late Marilda Rios de Carvalho Harden.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bobby” Huff along with her daughter Angela Panduro (Huff), her sister, Maria Stael Popp (Harden), and brother, Maxwell Evans Harden and two grandchildren.

Peggy was a teacher, small business owner, hospitality personnel, caregiver and a friend to many.

Peggy grew up in both the US and Brazil traveling to and from with her father’s ministry. She settled in Greenville, SC when she met Bobby. They married, started a family and Peggy embarked on several career paths throughout her adulthood, all in some form of caregiving.

She loved traveling, outdoor adventures and all things water related. They spent many summers camping at Lake Hartwell where she and Bob decided they would buy a plot of land to retire. They built their retirement home and enjoyed her last days in it with the lake breeze flowing in.

Peggy was the light in the room and the breeze on a sunny day. She was a storyteller, a joke maker, a playful spirit and lover of laughter and all things happy. She was the one rolling around on the floor with the kids and the animals, the one lifting the elderly up (physically and emotionally), giving pep talks to folks who needed it and finding solutions for those at a loss. She was the most generous soul, full of kindness, thoughtfulness and buckets full of energy. Her life was a great testament to her heart, her dedication to Christ and her love for others. May we all be filled with happiness and thankfulness when thoughts of her pass through our minds. And may all the glory be given to God forever and always.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Deon Louw will officiate.
