Louis V. Ruppe, Jr.
February 1, 1940 – December 16, 2022
Louis Victor Ruppe, Jr., 82, husband of Evelyn “Ginny” Lemay Ruppe, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born on February 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Louis V. Ruppe, Sr. and the late Dorothy Danko Ruppe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Edna Ruppe, sister, Evelyn Haydusky and nephew, Stephen Haydusky.
An Army veteran, Louis proudly served his country for six years. He was associated with the local Vets Helping Vets in Anderson, SC, and the family would like to thank all the men and women for their help, love, and assistance not only while Louis was ill, but their continued support in the days to come.
The Ruppe family lived in many states throughout the U.S., however, Colorado was Louis’ favorite. Camping and four wheeling was something that he enjoyed most there.
Along with his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his children, David Ruppe (Melissa), Dennis Ruppe & Evelyn “Lynn” Powers (Bobby), grandchildren, Kira, Kimberly, Michael, Devin, Jacob, Erika, Justin, Noah, Alex & Sophia and nine great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his nephews, John & Alan, niece, Paula, special friends, Donna, Robi, Candice and Keith & Robin as well as countless other friends throughout the U.S.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Burial will follow at MJ “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.
Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am in The Maple Room of The Standard.
The family would also like to give special thanks to the emergency room staff of AnMed Health, the staff of Patriot Hospice and the staff of Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
