Obituary for Lou Kerecz
(Lou Kerecz) Louis Emil Kerecz, 72, husband of Jo Kerecz of Anderson, died Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on February 5, 1948, he was the son of the late Louis Kerecz and the late Anna Senick.
He retired to Anderson, SC in 2004 after a career in electronics. He had worked for Agere Technologies, in Allentown, PA. In South Carolina, he was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War as a Staff Sgt. with the 101st Airborne Division and he was an Army Ranger.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Sismanovich “Jo” Kerecz, sons, Chris Kerecz (Crystal), Keith Kerecz, and Kyle Kerecz (Kelly). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexis Kirby and Alyssa, Kyleigh, Tyler, Mackenzie, Austin and Kaden Kerecz, and his “granddogs”, Shadow and Ranger.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 1:30pm at M.J. ”Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery 140 Inway Dr. Anderson, SC 29621. Rev. Dr. J. David Bailey will officiate.
Social distancing is to be observed and face masks are recommended.
