Obituary for Larry Johnston
(Larry Johnston) Larry Milton Johnston, 77, husband of Sue Johnston, of Townville, S.C., died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Hallock, Minnesota, on August 27, 1945, he was a son of the late Everett Powell Johnston and the late Vera Iola Jacobs Johnston.
He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Townville Baptist Church in Townville.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Johnston, daughters; Kim Kraft, Melissa Avery (David) and Jacquelyn Hawkins (Travis), son, Buddy Johnston (Toby), grandchildren; Joey, Kayla, Katie, Raymond, Sarah, Emily, William, and Brandon, and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Phyllis McGatha (Darrell), and Jack Johnston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth “Arky” Johnston, Linda Lou Price, and Christine Riggs.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30am, on Monday, October 17, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Burial will follow at M.J “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 1:00pm.
Visiting hours will be held, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 10:30am – 11:30am.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Jacquelyn Hawkins, 106 Glenaire Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29626.
