Kathie Ashley
September 11, 1943 – April 9, 2021
Kathryn Hopkins Ashley, 77, of Anderson, SC passed away at The Rainey Hospice House in Anderson on April 9, 2021.
Kathie was the daughter of the late Joe and Ruby Hopkins.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wilbur Ashley, her daughters, Cheryl Lewis (Alex) and Sylvia Richardson (Shawn), her sisters Sylvia Garrett and Lavonne Sloop, her brother Wayne Hopkins, and her grandchildren Lauren Parrish (Shane), Parker Lewis and Rebecca Lewis.
Kathie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also had a great love for music. She was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She also sang in the Concert of Hope and Remembrance for 17 years. She was self-employed as a bookkeeper for Wilbur Ashley Auto Service for 38 years.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd, Anderson, SC 29625. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Calvary Home for Children, 110 Calvary Home Cir, Anderson, SC 29621 or to The Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621.
