Obituary for Karen Bringhurst
Karen Francis Bringhurst, 53, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend of Anderson, SC, died unexpectedly in her home Sunday, August 7, 2022.
Born Karen F. Zarick, in West Patterson, New Jersey, on April 16, 1970, she was the daughter of James and Karin Zarick of Pompano Beach, Florida.
Karen loved spending time with family and friends and snuggling with her pets. She was a queen at the blackjack table and always walked away a winner. She enjoyed traveling to St. Maarten over thirty years and renting cabins with family in Gatlinburg. She absolutely loved her job at Inergy Automotive and the people she worked with. Her bold personality was a strong contrast to her bleeding heart. She loved to help people, even people she didn’t know, and would fight hard for them without recognition. She was the perfect combination of love and strength. Her beautiful heart, smile and adventurous spirit will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 10 years, Marcus Chrisman, daughter Katlynn Bringhurst of Concord, NC, her son James Tiver of Ft. Collins, CO, step-sons Sean Chrisman (wife Christina) of Lyman, SC and Walter Chrisman of Liberty, SC, her sister, JoAnn Zarick Petrone (husband, Anthony) of Coral Springs, FL, her brothers James (wife Diana) and Thomas (wife Anne) Zarick, both from Johnstown, CO, nephew Jason Jones (wife Katherine) of Muskegon, MI, niece Rachel Zarick Garcia (husband Eduardo), and nephew Nicholas Zarick (wife Hanah), great nieces Haven Jones and Gianna Garcia as well as extended family William, Jennifer, Ben, Erik and Sam Kellogg of West St. Paul, MN.
A private viewing for family will be from 1:30-2:00pm and a public viewing and memorial service will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
