Judy Dixon McAlister

Judy Dixon McAlister, 79, of Anderson, S.C., died Friday, April 22, 2022, at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Claude F. Dixon, and Frances G. Dixon.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife Marni, and their sons, Joseph and Thomas, and her daughter Dixie Locke (Ben) and their children, Ramey Reeves (Andrew), Matt and Samuel.
Judy was a graduate of Furman University, and Clemson University, obtaining a master’s in education. Judy was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson. Judy loved animals especially her horses being an avid rider in her younger years. She also loved snow skiing, playing golf and tennis and was a member of several Anderson County Women’s organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, David E. Cothran, and Dr. M.A. McAlister.
The family will hold a private funeral, and will be at Judy’s home – 1515 Gerrard Road, Anderson, S.C., on May 2, 2022. A gathering of remembrance will be held on this date from 2pm-4pm. In Lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Anderson Humane Society or PAWS.
