Roger Porter

Joseph Roger Porter, age 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away June 20, 2022.
Roger was born March 29, 1945 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA , the son of the lateThomas H. Porter, Sr. and the late Euna Rainwater Porter.
He attended James Island High School in Charleston, SC and Georgia State College in Atlanta, GA. Roger was the station manager and program director at WPLO-FM in Atlanta while attending college. He was also a member of the ROTC and commissioned into the US Army upon graduating with a degree in Journalism in 1967. Roger served with the 9th Infantry Division as a 1st Lieutenant in the Vietnam War. Roger retired from Delta Air Lines after 30 years of service.
Roger is survived by his wife, Carol Porter, his two sons, Joseph Porter (Olivia) and Michael Porter (Rebecca); grandchildren, Andrew Porter and Elijah Porter; and his sister, Elaine Albertson.
