Joseph Albert Jarrett, Sr (age 80) of Anderson, SC passed away peacefully on April 1, 2022.

Born in Charlotte, N.C., on July 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Harry and Eunice Foster Jarrett.

Joe leaves behind an adoring wife of 49 years, Marcel Connally Jarrett. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Harry Jarrett, Jr and 2 daughters, Jody Jarrett Phillips (John) and Jocel Jarrett Wettstein, five grandchildren; Haley Anna Phillips, Nicholas Carter Phillips, Alexander Neil Phillips (Emily), and Chantz Langley Wettstein and Chase Jarrett Wettstein, and their dad, Keith.

He is also survived by three great grandchildren; Liam Floyd Phillips, Eli Forrest Trueland and Molly Jean Phillips.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by is son, Joseph Albert Jarrett Jr., his daughter, Joyce Jayne Jarrett, and his sister, Phyllis Groves.

Joe filled so many roles in his family’s lives. He was the protector, the motivator, the person that instilled a strong work ethic and drive to succeed and at times the one that drove us crazy with impatience for things to be done immediately although this taught us to multitask in our own lives/careers. He was a business owner for a successful import/export wholesale company which will remain open in his honor. He was the pillar of strength and perseverance. Saying that he will be missed by his colleagues in business, customers, family, and countless others that he made an impression upon is simply an understatement. His achievements against many odds cannot begin to be written or contained in this statement of gratitude for our time and life lessons with him.

The family welcomes you to join a celebration of life for Joseph Jarrett at a graveside service at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hwy 29N., Anderson, S.C. They also ask that attendees wear bright colors, as Joe loved pretty colors.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital of Greenville or to Hospice of The Upstate, of Anderson.
