Obituary for Joseph Graziano

(Joseph Graziano) Joseph Phillip Graziano, 98, of Anderson, S.C., husband of the late Winifred Graziano, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, at his home.

Born in New York, New York, on August 1, 1924, he was a son of the late Frank Graziano, and the late Angelina Giamboni Graziano.

He was a commercial artist all his life and had several commissioned pieces around the United States. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Anderson, S.C., where he just completed sculptured artwork above the alter. He was a WWII veteran and served in the Pacific in Company B 594th in the U.S. Army. He received the WWII Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, among many others. He was a member of Vets Helping Vets Anderson.

He is survived by his son, Brien Graziano (Tonya Faye), and his daughter, Kathleen Kelly Thymius (William).
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1200 Cornelia Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621. Rev. Father Phillip S. Gillespie will serve as Celebrant, and burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm, at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625.
