Johnathan “Big John” Whitfield
August 22, 1984 – December 5, 2020
Johnathan Ronald Whitfield, 36, of Pendleton, SC, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020, from complications of surgery.
Big John was a son of the late Larry Whitfield and Cynthia Frazier Whitfield.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his “Big Pop”, James Frazier.
Along with his mother, he leaves behind his wife, Erika Whitfield, son, Erick Richardson, sister, Patricia Harkness (Jontavious) and his “Mommom”, Patricia Frazier.
Big John was a dedicated husband, father, friend, son, and brother. He was employed by the SC DOT for 16 years where he developed many lifelong friendships.
He finished second in his high school class and was an ordained minister who loved to bring others together. Most of all, he loved his family and will be truly missed by all those who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in The Maple Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. His service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center with burial to follow at Iva City Cemetery, Park Drive, Iva, SC 29655
