John Ingram Miller, 72, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, surrounded by his children.
Born in Greenville, SC on October 20, 1950, he was the son of Thomas Whitmire Miller and Doris Elizabeth Bane Miller.
John was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Doris Miller; also the love of his life, Pat Miller.
John was in the Air Force and fought bravely in the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer and played football and baseball at Greenville Senior High. He was a talented businessman in the flooring industry; he was still working up to the time of his passing. He loved spending time with his best dog Roger. His greatest joy was talking to his grandkids, teaching them bird calls, and telling many jokes.
He is survived by his son Scott Miller of Statesville, NC, and his daughters Jennifer Thomas of Anderson, SC, and Mary-Bane Boggs of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren Scott Jr., Gavin, Christopher, Jonathan, Hunter, Bryce, and Lindsay; also his two brothers, N. Stone Miller of Pawley’s Island, SC and Thomas W. Miller, Jr. of Anderson, SC.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Francis Hospital and Regency Hospital of Greenville. Your love and compassion for our father and for our family was felt every day.
A memorial service will be held at M. J. Cooper Veterans Cemetery Friday March 31, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The address is 140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621.
The service will be followed by a private ceremony of entombment for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Service Dogs for Veterans of Greenville, SC, by visiting https://www.sd4v.org/.
