Obituary for Jo Ann Langston

Jo Ann Langston
October 14, 1932 – September 4, 2022

Jo Ann Harbert Langston, 89, of Anderson, SC went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Born on October 14, 1932, she was a daughter of Levis Benjamin Harbert and Helen Elizabeth Wilson Harbert.

Jo Ann worked for J. Marion Campbell Accounting Firm after graduating from T. L. Hanna and attended Forest College.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, George Calhoun Langston of Anderson, SC, her sisters, Nancy H. Wall of Atlanta, GA, Bennie Sue Taylor of Anderson, SC and her son, George Michael Langston of Anderson, SC. She and George were married for 63 years.

Survivors include her sister Jean Drake of Anderson; her brothers Harold Harbert and Ken Harbert of Anderson; two children, Andrea Dale Langston Mallory of LaGrange, GA, Lisa Ann Langston Connelly and husband, Donald Connelly, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, Karen Oliver Langston daughter-in law of Anderson, SC; eight grandchildren, Joanna Lindsey Dowd and husband, Aaron H. Dowd, Jr. of Costa Rica; Matthew Henry Mallory and wife, Amanda of LaGrange, GA; Katie Oliver, Benjamin Michael Langston and Emily Helen Langston, all of Anderson, SC; Ashley Marie Connelly Young and husband, Doyle Young III of Pittsburgh, PA; Alise Meagan Talty and husband, Danny Talty of Crestwood, KY and Donald Francis Connelly III and wife Hannah, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Eight great grandchildren, Jackson Henry Mallory, McRae Catherine Mallory, and Mattie Dale Mallory, all of LaGrange, Ga; Aaron Higgins Dowd, Garrett Benjamin Dowd of Costa Rica; Mariella Ann Young, Madelyn Alise Young of Pittsburgh, PA and Charlotte Rhea Connelly of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jo Ann is also survived by her caregiver who was very special to her, Karen Ramsey.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, at Boulevard Baptist Church in Anderson. Dr. Austin Carty will officiate. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.
