Obituary for Jewell Kinley

Jewell Duncan Kinley, 82, resident of Lakewood Lane, went to be with her lord and savior on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.

Born on October 12, 1938, in Jamestown, TN, she was a daughter of the late Clinton J. and Beatrice Jones Smith. Jewell was a retiree from the Wamsutta Plant in Anderson where she worked many years in the weave room. She was a member of Gaines Chapel Emmanuel Holiness Church in Hartwell, GA, where her late son, Rev. Menford Terry Duncan pastored.

Jewell was married to late W.L. Duncan and later to Chevis Kinley.

Some of her favorite things in life were spending time with her family which she loved dearly. She was always happy to have her children and grands around her. She also enjoyed trips to the mountains and attending her church. She will always be remembered for being a loving and caring mother with a beautiful smile that would bring joy to everyone.

Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Duncan Thompson, and Sandra Duncan Haddon, both of Anderson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shane Duncan, Kevin Duncan, Keri Powell, Talina Kinard, Regina Kinard, her siblings, Carrol (Dot) Smith, Wayne Smith, 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her son, Jewell was also preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Smith, and an infant sister.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, inside of the Tribute Room at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Starr Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 prior to her service.
