Obituary for Jerry Gillespie
(Jerry Gillespie) Jerry Ray Gillespie, 71, husband of the late Annie Gillespie of Williamston, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at North Greenville Hospital.
Born in Liberty, SC on June 9, 1949, he was a son of the late Truman Lee Gillespie and the late Ruth Hamby Gillespie.
He was a retired truck driver and auto mechanic.
He is survived by his children, Wanda Taylor, Christy Quinn (Payton), and Anthony Gillespie (Mary Jo), grandchildren, Shaun Bell, Brandon Taylor, Kristen Taylor, Kyle Eaton, Nicole Kay, Austin Sellers, Colllin Sellers, Skyla Gillespie, Landyn Gillespie and several great grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Dewitt Gillespie, James Gillespie (Linda), Betty Johnson, and Linda Gillespie.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Janine Sellers, his siblings, Sybil Moreno, Joe Gillespie, Wallace Gillespie, Juanita Ellison and E.C. Gillespie and a grandson J.R. Orr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 3:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, SC 29625 Rev. Robbie Smith will officiate, and entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
Social distancing and face masks are required at all events.
