Obituary for Janice Cox

Janice Cox, 61, wife of Wyatt Cox, died Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her residence in Belton.

Born in Florence, Alabama on December 17, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edison Clemons and the late Carolyn Mason Clemons.

Janice was a 1978 graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington, AL. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from The University of North Alabama in 1981. She, Wyatt, and their two children moved to Anderson, SC in 1990. She has cared for many Anderson area children while working as a nurse with AnMed Pediatric Associates. She and her husband are faithful members of Southpointe Baptist Church, where she served in numerous roles, including as church pianist. She also enjoyed serving on domestic and international mission trips; the most recent being to Zambia with Wyatt in 2018.

She is survived by her husband, Wyatt Cox, her son, Jared Cox (Stephanie), her daughter, Heather Cox McManus (Brandon), and her grandchildren, Keith McManus, Mason McManus, and Madison Cox.

She is also survived by her brother, Charles Glendon Clemons (Linda).

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 4:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, S.C. 29625. Pastor David Neal will officiate.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30pm – 4:00pm.

A second funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 1:00pm at Elkins East Chapel 7435 Hwy 72, Killen, AL 35645. The family will receive friends there from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Garden in Florence, AL.
