Obituary for J. Lamar McLeod
J. Lamar McLeod, 78, husband of Pat McLeod, of Anderson, died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson, on October 11, 1943, he was a son of the late Jack Preston McLeod and the late Georgia Eberhart McLeod.
Lamar was a purchasing agent with Singer Corporation for many years, and later retired from DXP/Robert Bosch. He was on the board of the West Anderson Water Company, and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pat McGaha McLeod, daughter, Alison Patterson (Jeff), grandchildren; Drew Patterson (Kieran), Alexis Patterson, Michaela Patterson, and Rachael Patterson, and a great-grandson, Jaxon.
He is also survived by his brother, Larry McLeod (Allene).
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Wayne Adams and Rev. Bobby Watson will officiate. Burial will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service from 11:00am – 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either, New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2503 Whitehall Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625, or to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621.
