Hoyt Lester Bryant
June 8, 1943 - December 21, 2022
Hoyt Lester Bryant, 79, passed away on December 21, 2022 at Greenwood Hospice House in Greenwood, SC, after a long illness.
Born in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Mathis Bryant and Era Bridges Bryant.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Beauford, David, William, Junior & James Bryant and sister Alma Bryant Ray.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former officer with the Greenwood Police Department and a deputy with the Greenwood Sheriff’s Department. He also worked at Greenwood Mills.
He was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a Mason with Masonic Lodge #358 and a Hejaz Shriner.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Bryant (Yvonne) and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.
The family would like to thank Greenwood Hospice House along with Hoyt’s best friends, Frank Elliott and Rick Farmer for the great time and care he received.
The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, January 14, 2022 at Rice Memorial Baptist Church at 1:00pm.
The family asked that no flowers be sent but instead donations may be made to the Make-AWish
