Obituary for Hazel Davis
Hazel Duncan Davis, 93, resident of Starr, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at The Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson County on April 25, 1927, she was a daughter of the late James Howard and Jessie Peele Duncan. Mrs. Hazel was affectionately known by her family as Granny or GeeGee and loved many things in life including, working in her yard, growing her beautiful flowers and cheering for her Clemson Tigers. Most importantly, her love for Jesus shown the brightest and she left an impression on everyone she met and will be deeply missed. Her final life wisdom to everyone was “to put God first.”
Hazel was a retiree from Steel Heddle Manufacturing Company and was also a member of Unity Baptist Church in Starr.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Davis, and two children, Patricia Elaine James Bouknight and Wallace Richard James, Jr.
She is survived by a son, Ronald (Linda) James of Greer, her grandchildren, Ronald “Cory” (Amanda) James, Laine (Claude) Bouknight Brown, Tripp (Nikki) Bouknight, Jaime (Jason) Bouknight Vassallo, her step grandchildren, Tracey (Mike) Short, Sean (Sabrina) Posey and Lauren Pittillo. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Caden and Carson Brown, Kiersten and Levi Bouknight, Ryan, Lauryn and Peyton Vassallo, Molly-Breeze and Maley James, step great grandchildren, Lindsey (Jamie) Capps, Steven Stricklin, Jacob Posey and two step great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in The Maple Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. in The Tribute Room with Rev. David Pickens officiating and burial to follow at Silver Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Unity Baptist Church children’s or mission fund.
