Hagen Michael Phillips, 12, of Iva, SC, entered heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
Born on April 20, 2010, he was a son of Brooke Stephenson and Brandon Phillips.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, John, Hunter, Hannah, Jessica, Karmen & Aaron Phillips, his grandparents, Johnny & Martie Strickland, Ray & Lisa Phillips, Tim & Denise Stephenson and great-grandparents, Cynthia Campbell, Sue Brown, Martha Phillips, and Diane Simpson. He is also survived by his aunts, Kelsey Phillips & Angel Strickland as well as uncles, Jonathan Strickland, Max Strickland & Mitchell Estes.
Hagen was a current sixth grader at Starr-Iva Middle School and a member of the CHS Anglers where he received the belt for Biggest Fish in the Big Fish Tournament. In memory of Hagen, this belt has since retired. Along with fishing, he also enjoyed hunting and even cutting grass. Just being outdoors was where he wanted to be.
Hagen’s memory will live on in the many fortunate individuals who will be recipients of organs he donated.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Gethsemane Baptist Temple, 6116 Highway 81 S, Starr, SC 29684. Rev. Sam Duncan will officiate, and burial will follow at Iva City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Gethsemane Baptist Temple, on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Bi-Lo Charities Children Cancer Center, 701 Grove Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
